
January 16th marked the beginning of the 7th season of ‘American Idol.’ Contestants auditioned in seven cities across the U.S. with the chance to become the next Idol. This season was an exciting journey as we saw some scandal from Antonella Barba and the whole nation developed Sanjaya fever. In the end, Jordin Sparks took home the coveted title of American Idol.

We were blessed with two seasons of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ in 2007. During the first season in the spring of 2007, celebs such as Ian Ziering, Heather Mills and Billy Ray Cyrus competed. Season 5 began in Fall 2007 as people like Jane Seymour and Wayne Newton battled it out for the title of top dancer.
Another stellar year for ‘Deal or No Deal’ as seasons 2 and 3 produced more big winners. Howie Mandel continues to hand out prizes and people love to watch.
A whirlwind year for the cast of ‘The View.’ Rumors began in early 2007 that Rosie O’Donnell will not be renewing her contract with the show. This turned out to be true as Rosie fought with everyone from co-star Elisabeth Hasselbeck to The Donald. In the end, Rosie left and was replaced by Whoopi Goldberg.
Miley Cyrus makes headlines as her show, ‘Hannah Montana,’ gains popularity. Billy Ray’s daughter ends up making TV and music waves as the Disney diva goes on tour.
The long running soap celebrates that it has been on the air for over 40 years! Clearly the daytime drama has not lost any momentum as people are still searching for ’Days’ to see what happened.
The crew stays on the island for a third season. But in a flash forward, it is revealed to viewers that the captives will eventually get off of the island. The question still remains as to how they will make it off.
The eighth installation of the social experiment that is ‘Big Brother’ begins in 2007. People watch to see how all the cast members will get along in the house. The winner of season 8 ends up being Dick Donato.
Drama on and off set consumes ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ Burke and Christina break off their wedding and George and Izzie start a secret relationship. Off-camera there is still drama with Isaiah Washington and T.R. Knight. Washington does not return for season 4 of the show.
‘The Sopranos’ ends after six seasons of good old mob drama. But the ambiguous ending leaves some questions as to what really happened. Did Tony die or was it just the set up for a ‘Sopranos’ movie?
