    After a release of his sophomore album, ‘Konvicted,’ in late 2006, Akon has had a stellar year. His music has been absolutely everywhere and people love it. In 2007 Akon also released his own clothing line, Konvict Clothing.

  2. Fergie

    Fergie makes waves in 2007 with such songs as ‘Glamorous’ and ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry.’ The former Black Eyed Peas singer is absolutely everywhere. She also gets an MTV VMA for the Best Female Artist and is voted in at #10 on the hottest women list by Maxim.

    Lil’ Wayne has been making hip hop news since he launched his solo career in 1999. This year he is scheduled to release a collaboration album with Juelz Santana entitled ‘I Can’t Feel My Face.’ Rumors also start up in the spring that Lil’ Wayne is back together with rapper, Trina.

  4. Justin Timberlake

    People of all types cannot get enough of Justin Timberlake. He has been on tour this year all over and promoting ‘Future Sex Love Sounds,’ his late 2006 album. Also in 2007, he played the voice of young King Arthur in ‘Shrek the Third.’

  5. Ciara

    Ciara has released singles all year that have been hits. In June 2007, she hit her peak as #40 on the Billboard Top 100. She also participated in Screamfest 2007 with rappers such as Young Joc and Lloyd.

    Avril released her third album, ‘The Best Damn Thing,’ in 2007 and she has been on tour promoting the album. Lavigne’s record label did run into a hiccup in May 2007 when songwriters, James Gangwer and Tommy Dunbar, sued her. They claimed that Avril’s hit single, ‘Girlfriend,’ had taken liberties from a song that they wrote in the 70’s.

    The ‘American Idol’ winner is constantly a hot topic and 2007 is no exception. The country crooner won a Grammy Award in February for Best New Artist. She also released her second album, ‘Carnival Ride,’ in October 2007.

    It seems like Rihanna is everywhere you look these days. She released her third album in June 2007, on which she paired with powerhouses such as Ne-Yo and Jay-Z. When people aren’t looking for her music, it seems like they want to know about her haircut or latest romantic interests.

    Christina is on her ‘Back to Basics’ tour in 2007. The pop princess has not lost any of her stage power since her career beginnings and people love her. There is also a lot of talk about Aguilera’s personal life as rumors that she is pregnant are confirmed.
